Thank you for your interest in the STRS Ohio Health Care Program. We understand that choosing a health care plan is an important decision for you and your family. This is why we’re dedicated to making your selection process as easy as possible.
When you choose the STRS Ohio Health Care Program, you’re choosing a program that is provided by one of the largest public retirement systems in the country. In 1974, STRS Ohio established itself as one of the nation’s leaders by offering optional health care coverage to retired Ohio educators.
Today, we continue our dedication to meeting your retirement needs by offering access to a variety of health care plans that include hospital, medical and prescription drug coverage. We also offer optional dental and vision plans, and health management programs to supplement your hospital, medical and prescription drug coverage. In addition, we offer a subsidy based on years of service to eligible benefit recipients to help pay the cost of their monthly health care premiums.
Although access to health care is not guaranteed under Ohio law, STRS Ohio understands that quality, affordable health care in retirement is important to you. This is why we offer health care plans with different coverage levels, features and monthly premiums so you can select the right one for you and your family.
