Supervisor, Business Systems Analyst 3
General Summary:
Under the direction of the manager, Investment Services, establish goals and objectives, supervise projects and work assignments, measure results and initiate personnel actions for their team.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead all phases of the system development life cycle in accordance with established methodology standards and procedures.
- Supervise respective staff to meet project deadlines, budgets and resolve conflicting user priorities.
- Confer with users to determine functional requirements, present system designs and technical concepts to users and management.
- Assist in developing the annual plan and providing input to the ITS budget based on organizational and departmental business needs.
- Assign tasks to team members for day-to-day production support activities provided to Investments and Finance.
- Determine roles and responsibilities for each member of the team with input from the manager, Investment Services, as needed.
- Recommend to management, methods and procedures to improve associates productivity, quality and business knowledge.
- Participate in all aspects of the Performance Management Process by preparing annual accountabilities for associates based on goals of the department and projects defined in the annual plan, coaching and mentoring around accountabilities and competencies and conducting annual performance reviews.
- Initiate through manager personnel actions such as hiring, promoting, terminating and defining performance improvement plans.
- Participate in planning and monitoring all aspects of systems development and maintenance.
- Provide status reports in accordance with defined standards.
- Resolve production problems as necessary.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Bachelor’s degree and eight years relevant investment, finance or financial service experience required; masters degree preferred.
- Extensive knowledge of systems development life cycle methods, local area networks, data communications client server and PC (personal computer) systems architecture required.
- Supervisory experience preferred.
- Thorough knowledge of investment and/or financial systems required.
- Project management experience preferred.
- Superior oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent work record of attendance and punctuality; occasional evening, weekend and non regular works hours required.
