Survivor Benefits — Variable Supplemental Benefit Payment

The State Teachers Retirement Board has the authority to grant a December supplemental benefit payment when investment returns during a year exceed funding requirements for existing benefits. If a supplemental benefit payment is granted, all STRS Ohio benefit recipients are eligible for the payment once they have received at least 12 consecutive monthly benefit payments.
