The chart below shows the amount a monthly benefit is reduced
for each $1,000 of lump-sum payment. For example, a 50-year-old
member who receives a $10,000 lump-sum payment would have his
or her benefit reduced $57.70 a month for life ($5.77 x 10 = $57.70).
