This benefit is payable when a member dies before retiring with STRS Ohio but after meeting one of the following requirements: the attainment of age 60 with five years of service credit; age 55 with 25 years of service credit; or any age with 30 years of service credit. The benefit takes into account years of service credit and final average salary.
