Employer Workshops
The 2008 Employer Workshops have been completed.
Each year, STRS Ohio employer advisors host statewide Employer Workshops to help employers better understand STRS Ohio reporting requirements, policies and procedures. The workshops address several key reporting areas, such as:
- Membership
- Service credit
- Annual reporting
- Retirement reporting
Three types of workshops are offered:
- Comprehensive Employer Workshop — a full-day session designed for those unfamiliar with STRS Ohio reporting procedures.
- Employer Workshop for Experienced Personnel — a half-day session intended as an update for individuals with significant STRS Ohio reporting experience.
- College & University Workshop — a full-day session designed to address issues relevant to the unique needs of college and university employers, including a special session for human resources associates.
STRS Ohio conducts these workshops at several locations throughout the state for a nominal fee.
In addition to providing important information, the workshops allow for group discussions, exercises and question-and-answer sessions.
Who Should Attend
The Employer Workshops are ideal for new treasurers, business managers and payroll associates, as well as anyone who needs a refresher course in STRS Ohio procedures. It is most beneficial to those who have not attended in recent years.

CEUs Available
You may be able to earn Continuing Education Units (CEUs) toward your professional designation or license for attending an Employer Workshop. Please contact your professional or licensing organization for information on applying the credit toward your designation or license.
