| New part-time hires in Ohio’s public
institutions of higher education who are new members to STRS
Ohio have a one-time opportunity to choose among the three different
retirement plans offered by STRS Ohio when they are hired.
New part-time hires who are already members of STRS Ohio do not
have the option to switch retirement plans.
Part-time hires are not eligible to elect an alternative retirement
plan (ARP) provided by your employer through a private vendor — only new full-time faculty have the option of
participating in an ARP.
