State Teachers Retirement Board Appointee Named

On Nov. 4, the speaker of the Ohio House of Representatives and the president of the Ohio Senate announced their joint appointment to the State Teachers Retirement Board. Joining the current nine members will be Geoffrey G. Meyers, the chief financial officer and executive vice president of Manor Care. Prior to joining Manor Care, Mr. Meyers worked with Owens-Illinois and had experience in its health care area. He resides in Toledo, Ohio. Mr. Meyers’ appointment extends through Nov. 4, 2008.

According to the provisions of Amended Substitute Senate Bill 133, Mr. Meyers will not be seated on the board until there is an odd number of board members. The remaining member of the board is the Treasurer of State’s appointment, which must be made by Dec. 15, 2004.
