Death of an Active Member

If an active member dies before becoming eligible for a service or disability benefit, contact the Member Services Center toll-free at 888‑227‑7877, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m.–5 p.m., to report the death and begin the survivor benefits process.

You can also report the members’s death online using the Death Notification Application. Click here to launch the application.

There are no survivor benefits. In the event of the member’s death, survivors must withdraw the account.
