Employer Self Service Registration

Employer Self Service (ESS) on the Employer Website allows employers to access information about their STRS Ohio account and submit information electronically to STRS Ohio. The current applications available in the secure area of the site are:

  • New Hire Notification
  • Reemployed Retiree Notification
  • Employer Reports (online payroll reporting data, remittance for purchase of service credit, backposting adjustments, annual report member data and completion of service credit and accrued verifications)
  • Retirement Reporting (online completion of deposit and service reports for new retirees)
  • Estimated Payroll
  • Documents
  • GASB Reports
  • Employer Education Registration
  • Employment Verification
  • Make a Payment (online payments through direct debit)
  • Withdrawal Certification

Employers Who Already Have ESS Access

To add or modify your district's STRS Ohio contacts, your treasurer should send an email to Employer Reporting. Please include your employer number, title and contact information for the individual to be added, and the application(s) you want to add or modify. An Employer Reporting associate will contact you within one business day.

Employers Who Want to Register for ESS Access

To register your school for ESS access, please have your treasurer or main contact email Employer Reporting. Please include your employer number, names of individuals needing access, contact information and the application(s) you want to use. If you are a new school, an Employer Reporting associate will contact you within one business day.
