Merit-based pay increases are done after careful evaluation of each associate. Staff compensation was addressed in the 2022 fiduciary performance audit commissioned by the Ohio Retirement Study Council (a legislative oversight body for Ohio’s public pension funds). The audit found STRS Ohio’s compensation to be consistent with peers and noted “the attraction and retention of talented staff is essential to the success of STRS’ internal investment management strategy.”
