New Hire Report Now Generated After Submitting Payroll Reports

New hire and reemployed retiree notifications should be submitted to STRS Ohio within 10 business days of a member’s first day worked. If STRS Ohio has not received a notification but the member appears on a payroll report, a new hire report will now be generated and emailed to the payroll and main contacts at your school.

The new hire report will list the members’ names and the first pay date that contributions were reported. Follow the usual process for submitting new hire or reemployed retiree notifications to STRS Ohio as soon as possible.

Administrative Code Rule 3307-3-05(F) states that if new hire or reemployed retiree notifications are submitted later than 10 days after the individual’s first date on payroll, the employer may be subject to a penalty per person, per day.
