STRS Ohio Medical Plans Cover Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) Diagnostic Testing at No Cost

If you are enrolled in an STRS Ohio medical plan and you need to get tested for the coronavirus disease (COVID-19), please know all medical plans offered by STRS Ohio will waive fees for diagnostic testing and the associated physician office or emergency room visit. This coverage matches the federal government’s determination that diagnostic testing for COVID-19 is an essential health benefit under the Affordable Care Act.

If an enrollee is diagnosed with COVID-19, all subsequent services would be covered under current year medical plan provisions and subject to normal copayments, deductibles and coinsurance.
