Social Security and Your Pension

STRS Ohio members may be affected by two federal laws — the Windfall Elimination Provision (WEP) and the Government Pension Offset (GPO). Because Ohio public employees do not contribute to Social Security, any Social Security benefits you or your spouse may be eligible for from other employment could be reduced.
