Receiving Benefits
STRS Ohio’s primary purpose is to provide a monthly benefit in retirement for Ohio’s public educators. Currently, STRS Ohio serves more than 152,000 benefit recipients and pays out more than $7.1 billion annually in benefits. Benefit recipients include service retirees, disability benefit recipients, survivors of deceased members and refunds to terminated members.
